Post 6: Project Manager (JOB-2018-0214396)

Job Description:
The position of Project Manager (Projects) is now available at CYSREN to support the Centre’s planning, promotion and strategic development of research programs.  Reporting to the Executive Director of CYSREN, you will play an active leading role in coordinating the research programs at the Centre.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the NTU Principal Investigator and liaise with the respective project leads from NTU and industry/agency to facilitate the effective management of the Program to realize its research outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and periodic reviews; propose and execute strate​gies for resolving problems and for enhancing research outcomes.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones within budget constraints, prepare well-documented technical reports and periodic project assessments to management and funding agency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams within NTU to coordinate the procurement of resources and recruiting of manpower to effectively support the Program.

Job Description:
The position of Project Manager (Business Development) is now available at CYSREN to support the Centre’s efforts to attract R&D collaboration, external recognition and visibility to its R&D activities and outcomes. Reporting to the Executive Director of CYSREN, you will play an active leading role in coordinating the research programs at the Centre.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategize industry engagement plans and set-up meetings with relevant industry partners to help establish long term R&D collaboration.
  • Preparation of white Papers / research proposals with faculty and researchers members for attracting co-funding support from government agencies.
  • Oversee the completion of formalities required to secure collaboration with external parties.
  • Identify Centre’s core competencies by working closely with colleagues from Colleges of Engineering and Science at NTU.
  • Identify and propose promising R&D collaboration opportunities that can help strengthen Centre’s long-term research agenda.

Post 4: Research Engineer (JOB-2018-0164191)

Job Description:
The candidate is expected to design and implement machine-learning based techniques to distinguish between malwares and benign applications. To achieve this large number of malwares as well as benign applications have to be analysed offline in order to create suitable models for faster runtime detection. The techniques developed for this project should be highly optimized for the underlying architecture to ensure good performance.

Network pruning techniques should be considered to reduce the size of the designed networks. Optimization techniques for efficient data access and memory management will be needed to ascertain an overall high-performance system. Existing experience in memory and code optimization as well as integration with MySQL databases is highly desirable.

Post 3: Research Associate (JOB-2018-0162324)

Job Description:
The candidate is expected to design and develop scheduling techniques for mapping and executing large number of tasks on distributed computing systems. He/she is expected to have hands on experience in working with distributed computing systems, including familiarity with distributed file systems. Existing experience with frameworks such as Apache Hadoop is a big plus for this project.

He/she is also expected to work with distributed sensing platforms, based on Android, in order to collect data from large number of users. Experience in writing applications for Android is highly desirable for this.

The candidate will also need to publish his/her research findings in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
